Jamie Smith, Dan Worrall and Tom Lawes have all penned new multi-year deals at the Club.
The trio have all played important roles over the last 18 months for the Three Feathers, featuring regularly in the 2022 County Championship winning side and helping the Club push for another title in 2023.
Surrey Talent Pathway product Jamie Smith has scored just under 2,500 First-Class runs for Surrey, including seven centuries, and is the leading run-scorer for the Three Feathers in this year’s County Championship with 669 runs.
Dan Worrall joined the Club for the 2022 season and has taken 77 wickets at an average of just under 25 in 19 matches. The fast-bowler has picked up 38 wickets at an average of 25.8 in this year’s competition.
Tom Lawes, who was also developed on the Surrey Talent Pathway, signed a rookie contract in 2021 and a full professional contract last year. The all-rounder has taken 48 First-Class wickets in his career so far, regularly adding handy lower-order runs as well.
Alec Stewart, Director of Cricket at Surrey CCC, said “I’m pleased to extend the contracts of three players, who have all play a significant role in the first team. Dan has been a model professional since joining Surrey and adds a huge amount on and off the pitch. Tom and Jamie have been a part of the Club since an early age and are shining examples of how we develop players through our Talent Pathway.
“We are finalising contract extensions with several more players that will be announced in the coming weeks.”
