Surrey County Cricket Club have today (Monday, June 26) been announced as an official Club partner of the Women’s Sports Alliance.
Both Surrey and the Women’s Sports Alliance share a commitment to the advancement of women’s sport and the partnership aims to further improve the storytelling around women’s cricket at Surrey, and the female athletes within the Surrey set-up.
The Women’s Sports Alliance are storytellers with a passion for giving female athletes a voice whilst also giving them the tools they need to drive their personal brand, to gain more exposure and to develop their commercial value. The stories they tell not only add value to the athlete’s themselves, but to the next generation of talent and the women’s sports industry as a whole.
Over the course of the partnership, the Women’s Sports Alliance will work alongside Surrey County Cricket Club to help develop the profile of Surrey’s female cricketers. Surrey County Cricket Club, based out of The Kia Oval, are the home Club to high-profile cricketers such as Alice Capsey, Bryony Smith and Sophia Dunkley. Renowned broadcaster, ACE Programme Chair, and ECB board member Ebony Rainford-Brent MBE previously played for Surrey and served as their Director of Women’s Cricket. In recent years they have staged both Surrey women’s games, and games of their regional partners the South East Stars.
In addition, this partnership will focus on the promotion of flagship Women’s events at The Kia Oval, starting with the Women’s Ashes IT20 fixture on Wednesday July 5th.

As well as launching a competition to win premium seats to the Women’s Ashes fixture, the Women’s Sports Alliance new advisory board will attend what is sure to be a landmark event in the history of cricket in south London.
