Second XI fixtures confirmed for 2023 season

Surrey’s Second XI fixtures have been confirmed for the upcoming 2023 season, with the team to play in the four-day 2nd XI Championship and 2nd XI T20 Trophy

The Second XI will travel to Hampshire for a three-day friendly from the 12 – 14 April before travelling to Beckenham the following week to face Kent in our opening 2023 Second XI Championship fixture.

Surrey will play eight fixtures in the four-day competition, closely aligning with the LV= County Championship schedule.

Surrey will host Warwickshire (Guildford), Hampshire (LSE), Middlesex (LSE) and Yorkshire (Guildford). Away from home, Surrey will travel to Kent (Beckenham), Gloucestershire (Bristol), Sussex (Horsham), Essex (Billericay) and Somerset (Taunton Vale).

Surrey will play ten fixtures in the Second XI T20 competition against our South East neighbours. London School of Economics (LSE) will host all five of our home fixtures against Essex, Sussex, Kent, Middlesex and Hampshire. We will also play our five neighbours away from home.

Matches will often take place while the first team are also in action so the team will usually be comprised of players in the professional squad not involved with the first team, those returning from injury, players from clubs around the county and academy prospects. Surrey’s squad for each fixture will be announced in the days leading up to a game.

Every home Second XI match is free to attend for all supporters with no prior booking required. Away fixtures will be dictated by the home side, with confirmation about attendance in the lead up to each match.
