Surrey’s Second XI fixtures have been confirmed for the upcoming 2022 season, with the team to play in the four-day 2nd XI Championship and 2nd XI T20 Trophy.
Our Second XI will begin their season with a two-day friendly with Somerset in the second week of April before the 2nd XI Championship begins on the 19th April. Surrey will play eight fixtures in the four-day competition, closely aligning with the LV= County Championship schedule.
Matches will often take place while the first team are also in action so the team will usually be comprised of players in the professional squad not involved with the first team, those returning from injury, players from clubs around the county and academy prospects. Surrey’s squad for each fixture will be announced in the days leading up to a game.
In the T20 competition, Surrey will play ten group fixtures against our local rivals in the South East with the winners and best second placed side from across the three groups attending a Finals Day at Arundel on 9th June.
Every Surrey second XI home match is free to attend for all supporters with no prior booking required. Away fixtures will be dictated by the home side, with confirmation about attendance in the lead up to each match.
The 2nd XI 50 over competition is no longer in action, due to The Hundred and Royal London Cup running concurrently.
