Surrey travel to Trent Bridge to face Nottinghamshire tomorrow in Division One of the Vitality County Championship

The Three Feathers last visit to Trent Bridge was in 2019 when Surrey were victorious by 167 runs.

This weekend’s match will be played with a kookaburra ball. The next game away at Somerset will also be played with a kookaburra ball.

HOW CAN I KEEP UP WITH THE MATCH?

Play will get underway at 11:00am each day, and the game will be broadcast via Nottinghamshire’s YouTube channel.

A link to the match will be placed on the Surrey Match Centre and shared on the Club’s social media channels.

Surrey Cricket’s social media will provide live coverage from The Kia Oval, with match updates and clips posted throughout. At the end of play on each day, a written report with highlights and reactions will be published.

SQUAD

Surrey name a 13-player squad for the trip to Nottingham.

Kemar Roach has returned to the club for the rest of the season and goes straight into the squad.

LAST TIME OUT

Last weekend, Surrey beat Lancashire by an innings and 63 runs. Rory Burns won the toss and was rewarded as openers Wells and Jennings departed to leave Lancashire 33/2. No Lancashire player reached 50 as Surrey bowled the visitors out for 204. New ball duo Dan Worrall (3/31) and Jordan Clark (4/57)  did the damage for Surrey.

In response, Rory Burns smashed a career-best 227 as Surrey reached 444/9 before declaring. Burns’ chanceless knock was well supported by Ben Foakes’ 82.

Surrey declared late on the second day with bad weather forecast for Saturday. Just five balls were possible at the end of day two before bad light halted Surrey. Just 10.2 overs were possible on Saturday evening but Surrey did prize the big wicket of Wells. Surrey started the final day needing nine wickets for victory and got the prized wicket of Lancs skipper Keaton Jennings to leave the visitors 33/2. Surrey took wickets at regular intervals as Lancashire were bowled out for 177 before tea to give Surrey victory by an innings and 63 runs. Surrey took 23 vital points from the game.

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

Notts sit in eighth place in Division One, having won one match against Lancashire, losing three and drawing six.

Surrey supporters will be able to attend the ‘World War 1 revisited’ talks at the lunch interval on each day. On Fri 30 August (Day Two), Phillip Paine – co-author of ‘The 48’ – who will talk about some of the many Surrey players, staff and members who made the ultimate sacrifice.  The talks take place in the Radcliffe Road stand; admission is free, all are welcome, and visitors can bring their food and drink to the talk.
