Surrey have signed Emma Jones and Kalea Moore for the 2025 season. The move brings the number of players for next year to 12.

All-rounder Jones played every game for the South East Stars, the regional team in partnership with Kent Cricket and Surrey Cricket, during their 2021 Charlotte Edwards Cup winning campaign, scoring a sparkling 46* to secure top spot in the group stages. Jones bowls right-arm fast and is capable of clearing the ropes in the middle order.

Jones, who came through the Essex Cricket pathway, has been signed for the Birmingham Phoenix in this year’s edition of the Hundred. Away from the game, Jones completed a Veterinary Medicine degree at Cambridge University last year.

Off-spinning all-rounder Kalea Moore also played every game in the Stars’ 2021 triumph and has continued to be an important player for the Stars, playing 43 times for the region. Moore came through the Kent Cricket pathway, making her county debut in 2017.

Moore played for the Northern Superchargers in the inaugural edition of the Hundred and was part of the Southern Brave side that triumphed in 2023 – taking 3-15 in the final – and has been retained for 2024.

Emma Calvert, Director of Women’s Cricket, said “We are really excited that Emma and Kalea have signed for the club. Both players add to the team not just with the ball but with the bat and in the field.

“They’ve both suffered setbacks over the last couple of years with injury but it’s incredible to see them overcome those challenges and get back on the pitch enjoying their cricket and showcasing their skills.”

Emma Jones said: “I’m so happy to sign for Surrey and very excited to keep playing with this team of wonderful human beings!”

Kaleo Moore said: “I’m delighted to sign for Surrey! I will miss the place where I grew up playing, but I am fortunate to have this great opportunity to progress in my cricketing career.

“I’m looking forward to being with my teammates next year as we transition from the Stars to Surrey. We are really excited for what’s to come!”
