David Pakeman has been reappointed as the President of Surrey County Cricket Club and will serve a second one-year term in the role.

Pakeman, a former member of both the Surrey CCC General Committee and the Surrey CCC Management Board, served as President last season and was recently re-appointed at the Club’s Annual General Meeting, held at The Kia Oval on April 26th.

The meeting also reappointed Patricia Garrard as Deputy President, a role in which she will also serve a one-year term.

David is a lifelong cricket lover and Surrey Member, and was a member of the Surrey CCC General Committee from 2000 to 2009. As well as this, he acted as a Non-Executive Director of Kennington Oval Limited between 2005 and 2015, and from 2015 until the 2021, sat as a Non-Executive Director of Oval Events Ltd.

Outside of his contribution to The Kia Oval, David has held management and board appointments in the executive search, retail, drinks, property, healthcare publishing and consultancy sectors.

Patricia has been a Member of Surrey County Cricket Club since 1985. In 1990 she was appointed to the Admin Sub-Committee, and in 1992 she was the first female Member to be elected to the General Committee, where she has served four terms to date.

She helped run the supporters’ marquee in Guildford for 19 years, raising money for Surrey Youth, and also ran a creche at The Kia Oval during Sunday league games in the mid-to-late 1990s. Patricia was appointed as an Honorary Life Member of the Club in 1997.

Outside of cricket, Patricia worked as Catering and Facilities Manager for Willis-Faber Insurance for twenty years.
