Claudie Cooper is to depart from the club to take up a professional contract with Yorkshire
The right arm off spin bowler has played an important role for Surrey’s County team in recent years, taking 58 wickets across all formats since making her debut in 2019.
2024 saw Cooper take 15 wickets with the ball, including career-best figures of 4/5 in a T20 victory over Suffolk.
Cooper represented the South East Stars five times in the 2023 Charlotte Edwards Cup, where she took four wickets – including 3/12 vs the Northern Diamonds at the Kia Oval. Her performances with the Stars helped her pick up a contract at the Oval Invincibles for the 2023 edition of The Hundred.
Claudie Cooper said: “I’ve made the difficult decision to leave Surrey to take up a professional opportunity with Yorkshire. The club has been a huge part of my life since the age of 10. I will look back on my time in the Three Feathers with great pride.
“I’d like to thank my teammates, coaches and staff for their brilliant work – from the Pathway to the County team. I wish Surrey all the best in the future.”
Katherine Robson, Head of Surrey’s Women’s and Girls Pathways system: “Claudie has been a great servant for Surrey for many years. She has taken lots of wickets and played an important leadership role for the county side.
“We wish her all the best for the future!”
