After completing their impressive victory over the reigning champions, Southern Vipers, in front of a record crowd at The Kia Oval for a Surrey doubleheader, stars from the South East Stars joined over 50 Surrey Members for a meet-and-greet event in the Micky Stewart Members’ Pavilion.

Sophia Dunkley, Bryony Smith, and Dani Gregory joined a panel that also included Steve Elworthy, the Club’s Chief Executive Officer; Emma Calvert, the Regional Director of Women’s Cricket; and Patricia Garrard, the Club President. The group addressed a well-engaged audience in the Prince of Wales room, discussing Surrey’s plans for their new, professional women’s team next season.

In 2025, both the men’s and women’s teams will call The Kia Oval home throughout the year, with an ambition to host 50% of the women’s team matches at The Kia Oval from 2025, focussing on T20 fixtures through double-headers and standalone games.

The South East Stars are back at The Kia Oval this Saturday, going against Sunrisers in a standalone Charlotte Edwards Cup fixture. Ahead of the game, the Club will be hosting another Members’ event with the Stars, with the discussion centring around women’s talent pathway at Surrey CCC.

The event, which is due to begin at 1:45pm, will see presentations from Emma Calvert; Head of Women and Girls’ Pathway, Katherine Robson; and Senior Regional Talent Manager, Jennifer Jackson, outlining the steps for young cricketers to become professional cricketers. Members will also hear first-hand accounts from a South East Stars player.

Attendees will receive a welcome drink and have exclusive use of the room and balcony to watch the fixture. They will also retain access to the room and balcony to watch the fixture directly after. Play is scheduled to begin at 2:30pm.

Please note that our gates open at 1:30PM, and a Member our Supporter Services Team will be present to sign you in upon arrival.
