With the game heading towards a draw, Surrey looked to quicken the game up and force a result – scoring 177 quickly. Notts were given a target of 298 from 48 overs. The hosts opted to take the draw and the players shook hands at 5pm, with Surrey taking 13 points.

LAST TIME OUT V SOMERSET

Surrey and Somerset played out an enthralling draw at the Kia Oval in April. Cam Steel took 4/50 as Somerset were bowled out for 285. Dom Sibley scored a century as Surrey replied with 428. There were half centuries as well for Rory Burns, Jamie Smith and Ben Foakes.

Somerset’s lower order rallied to push the westcountry county to 351 on the final day thanks to 80 from captain Lewis Gregory and an unbeaten 52 from Craig Overton. That meant Surrey were given a target of 209 from 19 overs. The Three Feathers threatened to pull off the unthinkable as openers Dan Lawrence and Jamie Smith smashed 90 from the first eight overs. Surrey lost quick wickets and the teams shook hands with Surrey 123/5  with Lawrence unbeaten on 53. Surrey took 14 points from the match, with Somerset taking 11.
