Yousef Majid top scored with 49 as Surrey were bowled out for 196 on the first day of the Second XI Championship match with Yorkshire at York CC

Captain Josh Blake and Ashane Wijesuriya rebuilt the innings and took the score to 81 before Josh Blake gloved a fierce Ben Cliff behind to depart for 39.
Wijesuriya – who is part of the South Asian Cricket Academy, impressed with some brutal stroke-making before departing for 43 on his maiden appearance for Surrey’s Second eleven to leave Surrey 110/5.
Yousef Majid – promoted to six after impressing with the bat this season helped grind Surrey to a competitive first innings total. The spin bowler saw partners fall at the other end but continued, eventually being dismissed for 49 to leave Surrey all out for 196 at York.
Matt Dunn took the first wicket for Surrey as Vagadia was well caught by Ben Geddes at first slip to leave Yorkshire 31/1. Before another ball was bowled, the rain fell to curtail the first day to leave Yorkshire one down trailing by 165 runs.
