Alice Capsey, Sophia Dunkley and Nat Sciver-Brunt have been named in England’s squad for October’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates

The tournament will be Capsey’s second ICC event, with Dunkley and Sciver-Brunt representing England at multiple ICC events.

In July, Surrey named a gate at the Kia Oval in honour of Nat Sciver-Brunt, in recognition of her 2018 Kia Super League success as captain of the Surrey Stars.

The tournament was originally meant to be hosted in Bangladesh, but has been moved to the UAE due to security concerns.

The squad will head to Abu Dhabi for a training camp before the official ICC warm-up games.

They then face Bangladesh, South Africa, Scotland and West Indies in Group B across Sharjah and Dubai.

Captain Heather Knight added: “World Cups are always special events to be involved in as a player and I’m really excited by the squad we have selected to take over to the UAE.

“It’s an honour to lead the team into another World Cup. We’re looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
